Special Interest Groups

About our SIGs

TAF runs a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) that bring together people who work in similar job functions or have similar interests or characteristics. The SIGs are all about building the TAF community by connecting trade association professionals from all backgrounds and at all levels.

Our SIGS are all led by members and supported by the TAF Secretariat team to deliver a range of activities including events, the sharing of information and best practice and online communities.

We have a number of SIGs that are already active or in the process of being set up, but we are also keen to explore others that would be of use to our members. Find out more below or get in touch if you would like to explore helping to run a SIG or launching a new one.

PUBCOM

PUBCOM is our SIG for people working in external communication, public affairs or PR at member associations. It aims to:

  • Provide a professional network for staff working in external communication, public affairs or PR
  • Support trade association PR and public affairs staff to develop their skills and professional careers, including through the provision of tailored training and development and CPD learning opportunities
  • Share best practice, discuss challenges and initiate benchmarking and research into the challenges faced by PR and public affairs in trade associations
  • Provide mentoring and support to those looking to grow and develop their career in PR and public affairs within trade associations

Find out more here.

TAF is hosting an initial online meeting to explore the potential for a new Membership Engagement Interest Group.

This will be a space for open discussion, practical insights, and peer support — led by members, for members.

TAF is exploring the idea of launching a Young Professionals Network to support and connect emerging professionals working in trade associations across the UK.

Join us for an informal meeting to explore the idea, how we can get something established and what we should be focused on delivering.
